Cypress Shadows Community Development District (the “District”) is a special-purpose unit of local government that was established by ordinance of Lee County and is governed by Chapter 190, Florida Statutes. The District owns and operates public infrastructure that serves The Preserve at Corkscrew community. The District is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors (“Board”). The Board is expected to have one vacancy in Seat #3 with a term expiring November 2020. The Board is seeking a qualified elector to fill that vacancy for the remainder of the term. A “qualified elector” is defined by law to be any person at least 18 years of age who is a citizen of the United States, a legal resident of Florida and of the District, and who registers to vote with the Supervisor of Elections in the county in which the District land is located.

Any correspondence to express interest and/or résumés that candidates would like to have presented to the Board for consideration of their candidacy must be provided to the District Manager. Please note that all materials provided become part of the public record. Interested candidates will be required to attend the next meeting so that they may address the Board regarding their candidacy, and, if appointed, be able to immediately assume office at that meeting.

Please be advised that the Cypress Shadows Community Development District (the “District”), a local unit of special purpose government created under Florida law, has constructed and is responsible for the maintenance of certain improvements, infrastructure and facilities within the District. The District financed this construction through the sale of tax-exempt bonds, a form of public financing. As a result, and in accordance with applicable federal and state law, all District owned improvements, infrastructure and facilities are and shall remain open and accessible to the general public. Should you have any questions on this matter, non-resident user fees applicable to District recreational facilities, or any other general District issue, please feel free to contact the District Manager.
